Site Blocker is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any user data whatsoever. The extension operates entirely within your browser.
Data Collection
Site Blocker collects no data. Specifically:
- No personal information is collected
- No browsing history is recorded or transmitted
- No analytics or tracking scripts are used
- No cookies are set by the extension
- No network requests are made to any external server
Data Storage
The only data stored by Site Blocker is:
- Your blocked sites list — stored locally in your browser using Chrome's
chrome.storage.localAPI - Daily block counter — a simple count of how many times you were redirected today, stored locally and reset each day
This data never leaves your device. It is not synced to any server or cloud service.
Permissions
Site Blocker requires the following Chrome permissions:
- storage — to save your blocked sites list locally in the browser
- declarativeNetRequest — to register URL blocking rules with Chrome's network layer
- activeTab — to read the current tab's URL when you open the popup
- tabs — to redirect the current tab to the blocked page when you block a site
- host_permissions (all URLs) — required by declarativeNetRequest to match and block any domain you choose
Third Parties
Site Blocker does not use any third-party services, libraries, SDKs, or APIs. There are zero external dependencies.
Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy is updated, the changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. The extension will continue to operate with the same privacy-first principles.
